You will learn how to process a combination of 3 retouching methods: fast retouching for quality results and two deep retouching methods via frequency decomposition. You will be able to combine them properly and learn how to make a high contrast picture without losing detail. As a bonus, you will learn how to touch up highlights and understand where they are appropriate.

What we’ll do:

At the beginning of the course, we will provide you with a source for processing. At the end of the class, you’ll have your finished processed photos!

The first part will focus on “quick” retouching of large-face portraits. This method of processing should take no more than 10 minutes. In the second part, you will break down three methods of deep magazine processing to achieve accurate and correct results.

What you will learn:

  • Process large-face portraits
  • Work with skin in two methods: fast and deep
  • Combine three retouching techniques
  • create volume in photos with highlights
  • work with high contrast without losing quality

Who is suitable for this course:

  • Who wants to master more than just one “frequency decomposition” technique
  • Who lacks basic skills
  • If you want to reach a higher quality level
  • If you have problems with understanding what goes into processing
  • if you want to find fast or, on the contrary, a more thoughtful and accurate solution in photo processing

The program:

1 stage
Quick retouching. Estimating the amount of retouching in the picture. Using the necessary tools for processing.
2 stage
Hiding or revealing details. What should be visible and what is best removed. What methods to use.
Step 3
Deep Retouching. The principle of combining the three retouching techniques. Why three methods and what they are.
Step 4.
Working with contrast in the picture. Applying “high” contrast, how not to lose details in the image.
Step 5.
Working with volume in photography. Adding highlights as a way to preserve and enhance volume. Where it is appropriate to do it.
